HomeMemory Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 6, 2026
HomeMemory helps you organize areas of your home, sub-areas, and household items with optional photos and AI-assisted item suggestions. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is used.
Information You Provide
HomeMemory may handle the following information when you choose to add it:
- Home inventory content, such as area names, sub-area names, item names, notes, quantities, tags, and item details.
- Photos you capture or select for areas, sub-areas, items, and Quick Scan.
- Feedback you send through TestFlight, email, or another support channel.
Camera and Photo Library Access
HomeMemory asks for camera access so you can capture photos of household items and spaces. HomeMemory asks for photo library access so you can select images for item photos, cover photos, and Quick Scan. You can manage these permissions in iOS Settings.
AI Item Suggestions
If you use Quick Scan or AI suggestions, HomeMemory may send the selected or captured image to cloud AI providers, such as Google Gemini or OpenAI, to identify visible household items and return suggested names, descriptions, tags, or expiration-date text. HomeMemory uses the AI response to help create editable draft inventory items.
Do not use AI suggestions with photos that contain information you do not want processed by a cloud AI provider. You can still create and edit inventory items manually.
Local Storage
In the current TestFlight build, your inventory database and saved images are stored on your device. Deleting the app may delete this local data, depending on iOS behavior and your device settings.
Optional Backup and Account Features
HomeMemory may add optional account, sync, and backup features in a future version. If you choose to enable those features, inventory content and photos may be stored on HomeMemory servers so you can recover your information or use it across devices. These features should be optional, and the app should explain what will be uploaded before backup is enabled.
What We Do Not Do
- HomeMemory does not sell your personal information.
- HomeMemory does not use your inventory photos for advertising.
- HomeMemory does not use third-party tracking for advertising in the current TestFlight build.
- HomeMemory does not require location, contacts, or microphone access in the current iOS build.
Service Providers
HomeMemory may use service providers to operate the app, including cloud AI providers, hosting providers, analytics or crash-reporting tools, and support tools. These providers may process information only as needed to provide their services.
Data Retention
Local inventory data remains on your device until you edit it, delete it, or remove the app. If optional backup features are added later, backup data should be retained until you delete it, disable backup, or request deletion.
Your Choices
- You can create and edit items manually without using AI suggestions.
- You can deny or revoke camera and photo library permissions in iOS Settings.
- You can delete inventory content inside the app.
- You can request help with privacy questions using the contact information below.
Children
HomeMemory is intended for general household organization and is not directed to children under 13. Do not knowingly submit information from children through the app.
Changes to This Policy
This policy may be updated as HomeMemory changes. The updated version will show a new last-updated date.
